The gravesite of the Confederate General Robert E, Lee is a National Historic Landmark located on the campus of Washington and Lee University. When Lee died his body was laid to rest beneath the Lee Chapel on the grounds of the college. A statue of Lee in his uniform is meant to signify the general "asleep on the battlefield".
The Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetray is located in the heart of downtown Lexington near the campus of the Virginia Military Institute. General Stonewall Jackson is buried there with his entire family along with other Confederate soldiers.
